Drug Court Program

In October 2010, the Potter County CSCD in collaboration with and under the supervision of the judiciary, established Accountability Court which would later transition into the 181st Drug Court. Our Drug Court program utilizes a multi-disciplinary team approach by coordinating efforts of the judiciary, CSCD, district attorney, defense attorney, as well as other outside agencies like county mental health service providers and substance abuse counselors.

The Drug Court Counselor facilitates processing groups rather than education groups. They also address the therapeutic responses during the Drug Court team meetings and serve as an advocate for continuum of care beyond the treatment continuum to include other community-based services.

In 2019, the program was expanded once again to add a grant-funded Drug Court Aftercare caseload. This program allows the Potter CSCD to maintain a critical balance of authority, supervision, support, and encouragement even after the client's graduation from Drug Court.
